One of the kids favorite books is "Polar Bear, Polar Bear" by Bill Martin Jr. and illustrated by Eric Carle. Before the title page of the book there is a splash page of colorful stripes that draws a reaction from the children at each reading. This week I observed the kids trying to recreate the stripes in the art center. I talked with the kids about turning the paintings of stripes into something that we could place in the art area. After discussion we decided to make mobiles. Ms. Kathy helped the kids string fishing wire and beads on to their paintings and a personal portrait. Parents fill free to come by the classroom and take a look at these creative pieces.
