Outside our classroom

Our boards outside have been changed this month and I wanted to share with families the incredible work that the children have done. I have put out the children's big and little books for visitors to look at. I have also put out the children's texture art along with a message from our art team of the importance of texture learning.

Nuestras placas fuera han cambiado este mes y que quería compartir con las familias la increíble labor que han hecho los niños. He puesto los libros grandes y pequeños de los niños para los visitantes a la vista. También he puesto a arte de los niños textura junto con un mensaje de nuestro equipo de arte de la importancia de la textura de aprendizaje.

Construction Project Update 1

This week we have been measuring with cubes to see how long things are. The children have been really engaged in this activity as they will take the cubes around the room and measure. This work will help us when we explore different measuring tools next week. The kids have also took an interest in excavators so today they used a garden shovel to "excavate " different items out of our sensory table, such as letters and numbers. We also worked with our book buddies in making a chart of construction related words.

Esta semana hemos estado midiendo con cubos para ver cuánto tiempo son las cosas. Los niños han estado muy ocupados en esta actividad, ya que se llevará a los cubos por la habitación y la medida. Este trabajo nos ayudará cuando exploramos las diferentes herramientas de medición de la próxima semana. Los niños también se interesó por las excavadoras por lo que hoy se utiliza una pala de jardín para "excavar" los distintos elementos de nuestra mesa sensorial, tales como letras y números.

Construction Project

We began our construction project last week by researching through construction books and observing the construction that was going on across the street. The children have already picked up many concepts and language associated with construction. I will keep families informed of our progress throughout the project. -Mr. Nick

Publishing Party

Today we had our publishing party as we presented our big and little books. The children read their book in front of both Kindergartens, first grade, second grade, and our families. I like this picture above as it shows how brave and confident our children were to read their books in front of so many people.

Hoy hemos tenido nuestro partido como la publicación que presentamos nuestros libros grandes y pequeños. Los niños leyeron su libro delante de los dos jardines de infantes, primer grado, segundo, y nuestras familias. Me gusta esta foto de arriba, ya que muestra lo valiente y seguro de nuestros hijos iban a leer sus libros en frente de tanta gente.

Afternoon painting with First Grade

This afternoon we painted on a long piece of paper with first grade. We painted letters and words together and had a great time.

Esta tarde hemos pintado en un largo trozo de papel con el primer grado. Pintamos las letras y palabras juntas y lo pasamos muy bien.

Book Buddies

Last Friday we joined our book buddies outside in the courtyard to read books. It was fun to see the pre-k kids teach the 4th grade buddies the actions to the book "Head to Toe" by Eric Carle

El viernes pasado nos reunimos con nuestros compañeros de libros en el patio para leer libros. Fue divertido ver a los niños de pre-k enseñar a los compañeros de 4 º grado de las acciones que el libro "Head to Toe" por Eric Carle

Textured work of art Conclusion

A few weeks ago I told you about the textured works of art the afternoon children working on in Mr. Pecinna's classroom. I wanted to show families the finished product. The children are very proud of their work.
