A visit from Ms. Pat

Every two weeks Ms. Pat comes and visits and teaches us about healthy food. Ms Pat is from the University of Missouri and is responsible for all of the fresh vegetables that we eat during snack time. When Ms. Pat comes we get tot sample new foods and cook a healthy treat.

La Sra. Pat Cada dos semanas viene y visitas y nos enseña acerca de la comida sana. Sra. Pat es de la Universidad de Missouri y es responsable de todas las verduras que comemos durante la merienda. Cuando la Sra. Pat viene tenemos los alimentos de la muestra tot nuevo y cocinar una golosina saludable.

Bird Watchers

Some our Pre-k Children went bird watching with 1st grade last week. We used binoculars and worked with our first grade friends on identifying different birds.

"Mr. Nick we are hot and sweaty."

In Physical Education the children have been learning to volley. Today they worked on volleying and throwing the beach balls over the net. We had a great time as Levi proclaimed pre-k and Mr. Nick were hot and sweaty. Parents if you have a beach ball or a stuffed ball at home ask your child to show you how to volley.

En Educación Física los niños han estado aprendiendo a voleo. Hoy se trabajó en volea y lanzar las bolas de playa en la red. Tuvimos un gran momento como pre-k y el Sr. Nick se caliente y sudorosa. Reading to our Share Bears

The children have been using our "Share Bears" during center time as reading buddies. They have been reading their favorite stories as they use care to hold the bears. Parents at home you can ask your child to read to a favorite stuffed animal or toy.

"I'm 82 cubes big."

Brayan and Alex decided to measure themselves today with unifix cubes. They found out that they were 82 cubes long but most of the other pre-k students were only 66 cubes long. This was a great demonstration of early mathematical skills that was the boys idea. Parents you can do this activity with your child at home by using common things found in homes such as blocks, buttons, pillows, cans of food, pens and pencils, crayons, and books.
